Illinois Window Tinting Law

Please note, these are the most recent laws/regulations we are aware of, but Shaded Days, Inc is not liable for changes to laws outside of our knowledge.

Here’s a summary of the Law:

  • Owners are allowed up to 35% tint on all windows, except for the front windshield.
  • If you drive an SUV/Minivan that has factory tinted glass to the rear of the driver, then you are allowed up to 50% tint on the driver and passenger windows
  • You can opt for darker tint to the rear of the driver in sedans, but then no tint is allowed on the driver and passenger windows
